Daytona 500 winner Kevin Harvick won’t rest on his laurels this week at California Speedway.
Instead, he’ll drive in all three races - trucks, Busch and Cup.
“I am looking forward to this weekend,” Harvick said. “It will be the first time I have run all three races since September 2005 at Richmond.”
It will be Harvick’s first Craftsman Truck Series start since finishing third at Richmond. Harvick, who raced full time in trucks in 1998 and 1999, has 17 starts since, including three in 2005.
Check out the new Hollywood Hotel NASCAR on FOX prerace headquarters and home to Chris Myers and Jeff Hammond throughout FOX races.
Why was Michael Waltrip allowed to race in the Daytona 500? How much did his sponsor play into that decision? What about the make of his car? In this week’s Conspiracy Theory column, Lee Spencer examines why NASCAR let Waltrip race.
While working for General Motors in Brazil in the 1990s, Brent Dewar got a firsthand look at the country’s successful switch from an oil-based economy to ethanol.
Dewar wants to see the same thing happen in the United States, and he thinks NASCAR can help. He’s lobbying officials to consider a switch from gasoline to ethanol.
“We would embrace it,” said Dewar, GM’s vice president of field sales, service and parts.
NASCAR announced today that Bryant Frazier, crew chief of the No. 66 Dodge driven by Steve Wallace in the NASCAR Busch Series, has been penalized due to rule violations at Daytona International Speedway.
SPEED will air a pair of 30-minute specials from the NASCAR “Car of Tomorrow” test sessions from Bristol on February 28 and March 1 at 7 p.m. ET.
