Montoya mixes it up, on and off track

There was little time to relax last weekend for Juan Pablo Montoya, who mixed his best on-track results with a gratifying visit with fans.

Buoyed by an eighth-place finish in the Busch Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Montoya awoke Sunday morning eager to duplicate the results. But first he had to visit his souvenir truck outside the race track.

NASCAR ratings missing

For some strange reason, NASCAR has yet to release figures on TV ratings from Sunday’s Nextel Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

I’m wondering if March Madness has anything to do with it???

If anything comes across my desk, I’ll post it.

The Car of Tomorrow looks to be a full-time ride in 2008 so Larry McReynolds says teams are already figuring out ways around the rules. It will be safer and cheaper, but will it make racing more competitive?

It’s time to give Jimmie Johnson his due. Nobody gets less credit for doing so much as the defending champ. Jeff Owens says J.J. is clearly one of the top three drivers today and should be in the conversation when it comes to all-time greats.
