Jeff Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports agreed to two-year contract extension with Dupont on Thursday that keeps the four-time Cup champion with the only primary sponsor he’s had through 2010.

The extension keeps together the long-time active driver/owner/sponsor combination in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series.

“I started my career with DuPont and I hope to end my career with them as my primary sponsor,” Gordon said.

Sadler signs extension with Gillett Evernham

Elliott Sadler and Gillett Evernham Motorsports agreed to a multiyear contract extension on Thursday that will keep the Sprint Cup driver in the No. 19 Dodge.

“This is the place where I want to race,” Sadler said. “I think what we are building here is special and something other drivers and crew members envy.”

The 33-year-old Sadler joined Gillett Evernham Racing in 2006 and has three victories in 333 Cup Series starts, with 16 top-five finishes and 57 top-10s. He last victory came Sept.

So what if he’s 21st in the standings after 12 races? Kurt Busch is ready to continue his championship charge this weekend at Dover.
