What’s the secret to Kasey Kahne’s recent success? In a bizarre twist, Darrell Waltrip says Carl Edwards deserves the credit.

Truth be told, Dale Earnhardt Jr. would rather be back in North Carolina celebrating his protege’s first victory and recovering from Sunday’s grueling race at Pocono.

But team owner Rick Hendrick wants even more success from Earnhardt and his team in their first season together, so he added Tuesday’s test session at the Milwaukee Mile to an already intense midweek testing schedule.

Haas CNC Racing penalties upheld

In two separate actions on Monday, the National Stock Car Racing Commission upheld penalties imposed against Haas CNC Racing for upper rear wing mounting point violations found on both Haas CNC cars May 24 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The rulings were announced Tuesday.

Ex-official sues NASCAR over discrimination

A former racing official is suing NASCAR for $250 million, alleging racial and sexual discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful termination.

Mauricia Grant, who is black, worked as a technical inspector responsible for certifying cars in NASCAR’s second-tier Nationwide Series from January 2005 until she was fired last October.
