Johnny Benson survived a late flurry of cautions and held off Ron Hornaday Jr. in a 2-lap shootout at the finish to win the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Power Stroke Diesel 200 on Friday night.
Benson, the truck series points leader, scored his second straight win and third in the past four races, even though Hornaday dominated the early going on the O’Reilly Raceway Park .686-mile oval.
Considering that Jamie McMurray’s contract runs through 2009 and the Crown Royal sponsorship is good through 2011, don’t expect the lineup to change at Roush Fenway Racing next season.

Ryan Newman’s long goodbye to Penske Racing isn’t going quite as smoothly as planned.
Two weeks after Newman and team owner Roger Penske announced the current Daytona 500 champion would not return next season - a decision Newman called “mutual” - former Series champion turned commentator Rusty Wallace said Newman was fired.
“He didn’t leave. I’ve read many, many stories that said that,” Wallace said.
