Report: Childers to be crew chief for Reutimann

Rodney Childers will leave Gillett Evernham Motorsports, where he was crew chief for Elliott Sadler, to become David Reutimann’s crew chief at Michael Waltrip Racing, sources familiar with the situation told SceneDaily.com.

Kansas could be in line for 2nd race in 2010

NASCAR chairman Brian France said Tuesday in New York it is more likely that Kansas Speedway could get its second date on the 2010 schedule than for Kentucky Speedway to have its request approved for an inaugural race there.

Evernham buys small NC dirt track

NASCAR team owner Ray Evernham has bought a small North Carolina dirt track to preserve what he said is a disappearing venue for nourishing up-and-coming drivers.

Evernham announced Tuesday that he acquired the East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley from Ralph and Joanne Nantz, who opened the 3/8-mile dirt track in 1990. The sale price was not disclosed.
