Actually, according to Lee Spencer, Dale Jr. and Danica already have one. What’s it for? You’ll just have to watch.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is NASCAR’s most popular driver for the seventh consecutive year.
Earnhardt’s win keeps him at third on the career list behind Bill Elliott’s record 16 times selected as the most popular driver, and Richard Petty, who won the award nine times. The award, which is sponsored by Chex and presented by the National Motorsports Press Association, has been given since 1965 and voted on by fans.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. says negotiations are still ongoing with Danica Patrick, but he’s not sure if a deal will be completed with JR Motorsports.
Earnhardt’s team fields Nationwide Series cars and the second-tier series is the likely starting point for the IndyCar driver.
Patrick earlier this week announced a three-year contract extension with Andretti Autosport, and that was believed to be the final hurdle for her to finalize any NASCAR plans.
Steve Addington is still on the market.
Richard “Slugger” Labbe has parted ways with TRG Motorsports.
Celebrate all you want this week Jimmie, but be ready because Joe Gibbs Racing has its sights on you in 2010, Rea White says.
While Tiger gets toasted, Jimmie gets roasted and we’ve got the highlights; Kyle wants a snowball’s chance; Jamie gets ready for the 1; plus JJ on the Rolex 24 and Barry calls out Junior.
Mark Martin might not think his performance in 2009 was outstanding, but he’ll always be a champion in Jeff Hammond’s heart.
